
Covid-19 fourth wave shuts down Zimbabwe courts as cases reach new high
Deaths remain low despite record 4,996 cases HARARE – Sixteen criminal courts were closed across Zimbabwe on Wednesday and Thursday as Covid-19 infections reached record levels. The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) said the closures were “to allow disinfection of premises, testing and contact tracing” after several members of staff tested positive. On Wednesday, Zimbabwe reported 4,996 new Covid-19 infections – the highest daily tally since the virus was first detected in March last year.
